New Years 2025

Once again James put on the New Years Eve show as he hosted the countdown. This year James showed a preview of the year with his school shirts as he plans to be a post grad student at this time new year.

James had some great moments this year as he visited many of the countries in Europe on two separate trips.

Once the countdown was finished, James went outside to watch the fireworks. Because of the rain there were not as many fireworks as in years past, but if you waited (as we did in one of the videos) you could catch the fireworks.

2024 New Years Eve Countdown

James’ 2024 New Years Countdown

2024 New Years

Happy New Year! This was a strange one as prior to New Years Eve we had the Monday night football (between the Lions and Cowboys), was held on Saturday, Dec 30 (New Years Eve – Eve). This game will live in infamy as the Lions had the game stolen from them due to the refs – again. In this case they called out the wrong eligible receiver and then flagged Detroit for illegal touching and took the points away on what might have been a game winning two point conversion.

During the day on New Years Eve we spent our time watching some of the bowl games as we tried to get the bad feelings of the Lions game out of our system and prepare for Michigan’s third straight appearance in College Football playoffs. We also enjoyed Prime Rib for the second straight year, although last year we had it at Christmas.

James did his annual countdown for us in the living room. Once again, after the big moment, we went outside to see the impromptu fire works show that the neighbors put on each New Years.

Later New Years Day we saw Michigan defeat Alabama in overtime and will participate in the National Championship game next week against Washington.

Have a Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

This was a busy New Years Eve and Day as it all began with a trip to Grandma’s on New Years Eve. Grandma was doing well and we dropped off some groceries for her. After that we prepared for the evening activities as James did his annual countdown for us in the living room. Once again, after the big moment, we went outside to see the impromptu fire works show that the neighbors put on each New Years.

Have a Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022

The New Years celebration began with a bit of a disappointment as Michigan lost its playoff game to Georgia, but considering Michigan was not even ranked when the season began and to end up Big Ten champs, in the playoffs, and a #3 final ranking it was a very great season.

After the football game James took a break and put together a Pizza Puzzle just in time to get the real thing delivered to us.

Once again James welcomed in the New Years with his countdown in front of the television, and this year Hoot joined us as it was the kittens first New Years celebration. In the past, most of our pets did not like New Years due to the fireworks and noisemakers but that did not deter Hoot in the least.

Finally after the New Year was properly counted down, we all went outside to watch the New Years celebration and fireworks. Continue reading “HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022”

Happy New Year 2020

While we did not get a white Christmas this year, we did get a white New Years Eve and the Christmas decorations on the block really looked good with the snow reflecting all the lights. James put a lot of work into this years New Years display, decorating the living room and working on his new decade trifold. His explanation was that this was not only a new year, but a new decade so he had ten horns set up in his trifold to represent each year in a decade. A great time was had by all but especially James on this first day of a new decade. Mom and Dad could not help but imagine what type of a celebration he would have put on had he been around at the turn of the millenium twenty years ago.
