  • VIP Camp Party 2026

We had the final day party at VIP camp and it was a fun one. Plenty of bowling and Mom and Dad said that they are going to bowl the next time. Lunch was served and it was pizza and french fries along with cookies and drinks. James got a small photo album with pictures of their adventures which we have to scan in and add later.

James had a blast and got to see his friends one last time before moving on with summer. James plans on tutoring one of the campers at their parents request so maybe some of this college education is starting to pay off.

James did not miss a day of class or a day of camp, he managed his time very well!

  • VIP Camp Party 2025

The annual finale to another great season of VIP Camp came to a conclusion with a party at the local bowling alley. Plenty of games and fun for all the campers and their hosts. James got to do plenty of bowling and this year the parents had a chance to bowl as well if they like. Mom and Dad decided against joining into the bowling as it has been decades since they have.

The competition between the campers and their parents were competitive this year and I think the parents actually even won a race. All attending had a blast and a big thanks to the VIP camp counselors who put on another great show and a great time was had by all!

  • VIP Camp Dinner 2025

Once again the fund raising dinner for VIP camp was at Texas Road House.

  • Bowling With VIP Camp 2024

James had his first VIP camp activity today at the bowling alley. This puts the final stamp on his Christmas/Winter vacation as he will be starting school Monday. James was losing by 22 but came back with a spare and a strike to make it close (he lost only by two), however the fun was not in winning the bowling game but in seeing all his friends from summer camp.

Around a dozen campers showed up for the bowling and some of the talk was how Michigan would do in the National Championship game on Monday, should be alot of fun.

One of the staff was a volunteer from France during their exchange period and James had a chance to practice his French.

  • 2023 VIP Camp Party

Its hard to believe that VIP camp is already over as we just celebrated their end of season party. James has been going here since he was about 8 or 9 so its been at least a decade of VIP camp for James in the summer. Once again it was held at the bowling alley so both parents and campers could bowl if they wanted. After the bowling time we were served pizza, pop, salads, and sweets – A pretty decent spread. Once the food was served, the campers received their photo books and friendly competitive games were played between the campers and their parents. James was the coach for the campers team and Nick was the captain of the parents team. A great time was had by all.

  • VIP MINI CAMP DAY 2021

It’s great how James and his VIP camp friends get together every December and this year was no different. The VIP Mini Camp Day was held at Skore Lanes in Taylor where everyone got to bowl to their hearts content. Lunch was served at 12:30 which consisted of pizza, fries, pop, and cookies and afterwards games were played with prizes.

Of course the main attraction was seeing friends that you have not seen since the summer. James had a blast and came home with some school supplies for his next semester at Wayne County Community College. A great time was had by all this Christmas Eve Eve and James and his family are now turning their attention to Christmas as this was Dad’s last day of work before the holidays.

  • VIP Camp 2021 Party

After a year off from VIP Camp (due to the pandemic), James got to meet up with his friends and they had a great season.

As usual, many of the events included swimming, Heritage Park, Movies, and Restaurants. Best of all it was socializing after a year of not socializing. Everyone stayed healthy and all had a great time as the year was very well attended.

This year event was in the Taylor sports complex but he final party was at the bowling alley.

  • VIP Camp at the National Guard

VIP camp came into play this day for the first time in a long time due to the pandemic. The staff was working a booth at the National Guard in Taylor MI. It was called “Meet The National Guard” and was open to the public. Military vehicles were on display and for the first time we were able to try out the Halloween Benefit Books we made up before the Pandemic began. Later a military helicopter made its appearance and landed in the parking lot.

James helped work the VIP camp booth as his parents dropped him off and picked him up. He has his learners permit but is unable to take his test since Apollo driving school has not opened up since the pandemic closed everything down. (more…)

  • VIP Holiday Mini Camp 2019

James is on Christmas vacation with his school but got a treat this Monday (and next Monday too) with a special VIP Camp for the holidays. The event was held at Skore Lanes in Taylor and each of the campers got to bowl 4 games in addition to all the other events including a hot dog, chips, and drink lunch. James had a blast with his “summer” friends” (who he saw earlier in the week at Santa’s Magic Forest) and everyone got to wish Merry Christmas to each other.

Mom and Dad picked James up at the bowling alley and we all went to Golden Corral for a nice family dinner. A great time was had by all.

  • VIP Camp Party 2019

VIP Camp came to an ending with a party at Skore lanes where all the kids got to bowl and eat pizza and drink pop with their family. James did real good bowling with a 137 and said he was going to take bowling in College like his Dad did. As in the past, the party was bitter sweet for James knowing that another year of camp has come and gone, but he will be supporting VIP camp later this August as they will have a booth at Lincoln Park Days on Friday, August 24th, Saturday, August 25th, and Sunday August 26th. VIP camp will be selling tickets for raffle baskets, t-shirts and selling bracelets and need people to help and to let people know what they are all about. With this in mind, James has started a new website that he does on his own called http://www.vipcamphistory.com (more…)
