VIP MINI CAMP DAY 2021
It’s great how James and his VIP camp friends get together every December and this year was no different. The VIP Mini Camp Day was held at Skore Lanes in Taylor where everyone got to bowl to their hearts content. Lunch was served at 12:30 which consisted of pizza, fries, pop, and cookies and afterwards games were played with prizes.
Of course the main attraction was seeing friends that you have not seen since the summer. James had a blast and came home with some school supplies for his next semester at Wayne County Community College. A great time was had by all this Christmas Eve Eve and James and his family are now turning their attention to Christmas as this was Dad’s last day of work before the holidays.
VIP Camp 2021 Party
After a year off from VIP Camp (due to the pandemic), James got to meet up with his friends and they had a great season.
As usual, many of the events included swimming, Heritage Park, Movies, and Restaurants. Best of all it was socializing after a year of not socializing. Everyone stayed healthy and all had a great time as the year was very well attended.
This year event was in the Taylor sports complex but he final party was at the bowling alley.
VIP Camp at the National Guard
VIP camp came into play this day for the first time in a long time due to the pandemic. The staff was working a booth at the National Guard in Taylor MI. It was called “Meet The National Guard” and was open to the public. Military vehicles were on display and for the first time we were able to try out the Halloween Benefit Books we made up before the Pandemic began. Later a military helicopter made its appearance and landed in the parking lot.
James helped work the VIP camp booth as his parents dropped him off and picked him up. He has his learners permit but is unable to take his test since Apollo driving school has not opened up since the pandemic closed everything down. Continue reading “VIP Camp at the National Guard” →
VIP Holiday Mini Camp 2019
James is on Christmas vacation with his school but got a treat this Monday (and next Monday too) with a special VIP Camp for the holidays. The event was held at Skore Lanes in Taylor and each of the campers got to bowl 4 games in addition to all the other events including a hot dog, chips, and drink lunch. James had a blast with his “summer” friends” (who he saw earlier in the week at Santa’s Magic Forest) and everyone got to wish Merry Christmas to each other.
Mom and Dad picked James up at the bowling alley and we all went to Golden Corral for a nice family dinner. A great time was had by all.
Santas Magic Forest 2019
It was a clear and cold night this year as James and his family made the trek to see the magic forest. It was great to see so many people attending this year, by far the largest turnout since we have been coming to this event. It was also great to see people that you usually only see in the summer time during the Holiday season. Lots of fun as always and we encourage everyone who can to visit this awesome Christmas display which is at Heritage Park on most weekends during the holidays.
We did receive some bad news, that one of the parents we know very well had a stroke, fortunately he is expected to make a full recovery so our prayers our with him and his family during this Holiday season.

VIP Camp Party 2019
VIP Camp came to an ending with a party at Skore lanes where all the kids got to bowl and eat pizza and drink pop with their family. James did real good bowling with a 137 and said he was going to take bowling in College like his Dad did. As in the past, the party was bitter sweet for James knowing that another year of camp has come and gone, but he will be supporting VIP camp later this August as they will have a booth at Lincoln Park Days on Friday, August 24th, Saturday, August 25th, and Sunday August 26th. VIP camp will be selling tickets for raffle baskets, t-shirts and selling bracelets and need people to help and to let people know what they are all about. With this in mind, James has started a new website that he does on his own called http://www.vipcamphistory.com Continue reading “VIP Camp Party 2019” →
VIP Camp – Awesome Park Cleanup Crew
Thank to the awesome helpers who came out to participate in the Park Clean Up Fundraiser. Not only were we able to raise enough money for one field trip with busing next year but Konely and James both walked away with free backpacks supplied by the Lincoln Park Police Department who hosts a Cops Care benefit each year. Once again we had the privileged of participating in their fun event after our clean up! Nothing like free food and backpacks after a little bit of work!
Did you miss out on a chance to help raise funds for VIP? It’s not too late cause next weekend VIP Camp will be hosting a booth at Lincoln Park Days Festival and we would love for some of the families to come help us out at the booth and spread the word about out awesome campers! If you are interested in working our booth for a few hours please contact us for time set up.
VIP Camp 2018
James had another fantastic year at VIP Camp. His favorite part was zooma dancing right before a thunderstorm knocked out the power to the Taylor Sports Complex where the camp was taking place. This year had many field trips including Turtle Cove, Skore Lanes (two trips including the last day party), Texas Roadhouse, Movie Theatre (where he saw Transylvania 3), Heritage park, and the Sterling Heights Play Place. All in all a great success, big thanks to the staff at VIP camp and all James’ friends that made is such a nice memory for him.
VIP Camp 2017
Another season of VIP camp has come and gone, it sort of symbolizes the beginniner of the end of summer since it ends the beginning of August. James had a blast this year especially with all the swimming adventures that went on during the camp.
The camp begins the week after the 4th of July and as mentioned above ends usually around the time the Magic Get Together begins (early August). The camp goes from Monday till Thursday beginning around 9:30am and ending at 2:30pm. During this time the campers see and do an array of fascinating things from visiting Turtle Cove to going to the movies to having a squirt gun battle outside the building. A great social experience for the kids and James loves it.
VIP Camp 2016
Its hard to believe this year is going by so fast, it seems like we just sent James off to school in January and now his first summer camp is already over, where did all the time go. James had a very enjoyable summer with the VIP camp folks and was involved in trips to Turtle Cove, Movies, Restaurants, and many craft projects. This year his VIP camp overlapped with the Abbott Get Together and Howell Nature center so James missed the last few days, but Mom and Dad stopped by to drop off the charity money and pick up James’ photo album which include many of the pictures shown here.
The VIP Counselors with a message for James who was away at Howell Camp for the last week of VIP Camp.
