Thanksgiving 2014
James picked out the turkey this year and Mom did her usual great job of cooking it up with stuffing and such. Devil eggs kept James happy while the turkey cooked as the family watched the Detroit parade which was immediately proceeded by the Detroit Lion game. We were pleasantly surprised when the Lions won their second consecutive Thanksgiving game which certainly added to the festivities. After the Lions game we began setting up Christmas decorations and by the end of the weekend, our Holiday decorating was complete. James also managed to make one of the first snowmen of the season, although he was limited by lack of snow (lets hope this continues).
Thanksgiving Visit to Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital 2013
Aunt Peg was at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit over the holidays and James and his Dad made a visit to see her and were surprised at all the magnificent Christmas decorations that were on display there.
Dad was born at Henry Ford Hospital (and so was his Dad James Grandpa and both Aunt Peg and Aunt Criss – the place has been around since 1915 or so) so it has a special meaning to him (although he does not remember his last visit here, it might have been when he was born).
Aunt Peg was doing ok but was very tired and not interested in taking pictures, however she would recover and a few weeks later we picked her up here and took her back to her apartment in Oakwood.
The one thing that is frustrating about this hospital is paid parking, I never liked that at a hospital but in Detroit or any major city I guess its necessary due to the high population vs park spots.

Thanksgiving 2012
It was a traditional Detroit Thanksgiving for us. First James watched the parade and enjoyed it, later Dad watched the Lions lose (again) on Thanksgiving (this time in overtime, an agonizing defeat). The meal Mom cooked was delicious and everyone gobbled their share of turkey, stuffing, and deviled eggs. Later we pulled out the Christmas decorations (at James request) and got to work on setting up Christmas inside and outside.
The highlight for James was setting up his Christmas countdown ornament which is on its third year. Mary and James will add more bulbs and ornaments later in the week and we will be all set for Christmas 2012 (assuming the Mayans are wrong).
The small collection of pictures we have here are of James and his Mom making devil eggs for our Thanksgiving feast!
