A Summer Project

Nothing better for a boy and his dad to work on a nice summer project, and this year was the marble roller coaster. On the surface this looks pretty simple, but actual construction was problematical at best as many items had to be considered. After several hours, and help from Kitty Thelma, we were finally able to make the thing work and video taped it as proof because we suspect not too many people would have the patience to deal with this thing.

Easter 2017

Nothing signifies Spring more than Easter, and this Easter we had some phenomenal weather which made it even more pleasant (its hard to get in the Easter spirit when you are shoveling snow). This year James went out to lunch with Aunt Peg and Grandma which was a real treat. Grandma gave James an Easter cake and Aunt Peg gave James a check so you know James was very happy and it wasn’t event Easter yet. However Grandma and Aunt Peg did not leave empty handed as James dyed a dozen eggs for each of them the night before.

Easter Sunday Mom and Dad were surprised when James brought us both our own Easter baskets! What a great kid. Mom got plates in her basket and Dad got a football game in his. James got a basket as well with athletic items to help him in sports and such. James did not want anything fattening so we bought him only healthy snacks.

Kittyville 2014

James got a surprised this Christmas when he received a new pet from the Humane Society. These kittens were rescue kittens and have really become a part of the household (especially with the cold winter we are having where everybody is inside most of the day).

Currently these kittens are on a kitty chow diet and I don’t know what they put in that stuff but the kitty litter used in the house has gone up a lot more than you would expect. We also keep the kittens out of the basement because we don’t want them messing around with some of the nooks and crannies you can find in a basement (or with the decorations stored down there). Once it warms up we should be able to put the Holiday decorations in the garage and the kittens will be much bigger and not able to crawl into small places.

All in all, everyone is enjoying the new additions and watching them grow.

Christmas Kittens 2013

The big gift this year was two kittens coming into the Kleiber family. They arrived on Christmas Eve and in the pictures you can see the traveling box that we brought them home in. They were born on Oct 26 of this year (Halloween time) and the Humane Society people named them Charm and Luna. Mary and James renamed them Karmin (James pick for Charm) and Thelma (Mom’s pick for Luna).

We left most of the indoor Christmas lights off because the new kittens had a tendency to climb in the tree and we did not want them to get a shock. Both kittens were spaded but one (Karmin) kept scratching and licking her stitches so the vet prescribe one of those cones to stop her. Problem was the kitten was too small for even their smallest cone so they made one out of a paper plate.

Thanks to all the family for the gifts, cards, candy, kind thoughts, and well wishes.

James and Cindy the Cat 2013

Last year our beloved cat Lucy passed away in October and recently James hinted that we wanted another cat to play with. He specifically wanted a yellow cat. After a couple of weeks, Cindy is fitting in just fine with the family (although Idgie takes her with a grain of salt, we still see them snoozing together from time to time). James enjoys playing with the kitten (yes, she is a kitten but is big for her age) so we thought we would take some pictures of the two of them playing. James even made a “kitty school” out of a cardboard box and Cindy enjoys going in there. Some of these pictures are blurred but it more the kitten moving so fast than anything else. Welcome to the family Cindy.
