A great time was had by all at Dads Birthday which included cake and ice cream, gifts, and a Boneyard Dinner.

Later that day we got a chance to spend some quality time with the whole family as we watched a movie on TV. It was nice to get away from news and internet if only for a few hours and do something together at home as a family rather than everyone working on their phones, ipads, and computers. A big thank you to all the well wishers, cards, and gifts.

When Donald W Kleiber was born in 1933, in Michigan, his father, Benjamin, was 39 and his mother, Mildred, was 36.

He has two sons (Donald “Mike”, and Bruce) and one daughter (Sandy) with Mary Ann Chmura between 1954 and 1962.

He had three brothers and two sisters (Charles, Raymond, and the baby who died at childbirth are the three brothers, the two sisters were Dorothy and Virginia).

Donald Kleiber is James’ Great Uncle and lived for decades within walking distance of James Great Aunt Louise in Trenton and they both attended the same church, St Timothy Church just off West Road.

Donald and his wife Mary Ann are also James’ Dads Godparents and have been a strong influence in his life as their kindness to everyone they met was inspirational.

James celebrated his birthday at Buffalo Wild Wings with Grandma and Dynamike (who was performing there doing magic tricks and making balloons for kids). James got to open gifts at the restaurant and at home.

Everyone had a great time and Mom, Dad, Grandman, James, and Dynamike all enjoyed the evening and especially the food.

James felt a little under the weather when we got him home and he had a small cold which he shook off quickly, however he constantly reminds us of it as he thinks he should get compensation for being a little sick on his birthday, smart kid finding loopholes in everything.

A sure sign that it is getting closer to Christmas is Dad’s birthday. Dad has always complained that he gets short changed on his birthday because it is so close to Christmas that most people just got him one gift for both, but for the past few years we have moved his birthday (at least the gift part of it) to November 1st where we take him out to the Halloween shops to buy decorations at 50 – 90 percent off.

However we still celebrate his birthday in December so now (in a way) he sort of gets two birthdays each year on his two favorite holidays each year, Christmas and Halloween.

Its hard to believe James is now 14 years old and going to High School. James got plenty of gifts this year, especially in the mail. Thanks to Aunt Criss, Uncle Ken, Grandma, Aunt Peg, Keith & Renee, and of course Mom & Dad. James got to pick his favorite restaurant so we went to the China Buffet for dinner (James had school). When asked if he wanted a party or was still happy with having the Halloween party instead he immediately answered Halloween.

James birthday this year marked the passing of 13 years since his birth in Garden City hospital and what a great time we had.

Unfortunately Aunt Peg was sick and missed out on the birthday lunch (Aunt Pegs birthday is the same day). James had lots of gifts to open from relatives and friends and we would like to take this time to thank you all. James got some wonderful gifts as well. As of this time, he has not spent any of the money or gift certificates but when he does we will be sure to post pics of what he bought.

James helped one of his friends celebrate their 14th birthday today and had a blast. The event was at a hall in Wyandotte and James participated in several of the activities including making decorations and making cookies. Earlier James said Kira liked cats so all his gifts had a cat theme to them and he was right on the money. With the event so close to Christmas (James dad knows much about having a birthday close to Christmas) the party had a Christmas theme to it with a Grinch cake, gifts for the kids, and Christmas songs which made the party that much more special. For the last few years Dad’s birthday has been celebrated on the day after Halloween, however Dad still gets other gifts and surprises on his birthday and this year was no different as Dad got surprised on his actual birthday. A very busy Holiday season this year and Dad’s birthday also provided the excuse for having chocolate cake and ice cream during the holiday season. Happy Birthday Dad and many many more!!!

James was invited to a party from his friend Steven at school and had an absolute blast visiting with many of the kids he goes to school with. It was a first time meeting several of the families for us as well since James has six different classes during his school day which means many new faces. The party was at Pump It Up in Taylor on Northline road and James made sure he was there right when it opened so he did not miss a minute of playtime. After playing on the inflatables for about an hour and a half, the kids moved into the dining room where they were treated to pizza and treats.

It was a busy day today for everyone with work, school, and Santa’s Magic Forest so its no wonder that we got a late start on Dads birthday.

As usual, Dad got a special chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and everyone enjoyed a late birthday snack on this cold December day. 53 years ago Dad was born, kind of amazing how the time flies when you are having fun.

Dad gets most of his gifts the day after Halloween, when Mom goes to the after Halloween sales and picks up whatever Dad needs for the next Halloween party. Still, plenty of gifts to open today for Dad.
