This was very close to being a perfect Christmas for our family. The weather outside was frightening and we were kind of trapped inside due to the freezing cold which was described as a “generation” storm. But it was still a white Christmas. The Christmas dinner was awesome as we had prime rib for the first time since Mountain Jack restaurant closed down. It was just as good as we remembered.
The gifts this year were awesome including a couple Wii games for James, along with many new clothes that were Michigan, Lion, or Wayne State oriented. James also got a bit box of all his favorite snacks!
Mom got some Boblo antiques, antique Christmas paper from Kmart in the seventies (still wrapped), a “Curls & Waves” set, and a Sauna Wrap from Sharper Image to name a few.
Dad got lots of Halloween items including a Dr. Illume full size animatronic. Dad also got a couple new shirts for work and a pair of work pants, a couple hoodies, one being a tiger hoodie and the other an old style Michigan hoodie, and a box of crackers with every cheese imaginable.
Since we were stuck inside due to the weather we ended up watching our favorite Christmas shows including “Dead End”, “Christmas Vacation”, “Christmas Story” (plus the sequel), and our two tradition X file episodes (Post Modern Promethiums and the Ghosts who Stole Christmas).
Thanks to all who sent us Christmas wishes either virtual or through the mail, and a Big Thanks to Grandma, Aunt Criss & Uncle Kenny for their gifts (which were opened days earlier). Merry Christmas to all.
