  • Dinosaur World Kentucky 2014

    After Granpa Landis funeral we had a long drive back to Michigan, but we felt James needed an emotional break so we took him to one of his favorite places on earth, Dinosaur World in Kentucky.

    James was very unselfish this trip and spent his money buying souvenirs for his classmates back in Michigan. The gift shop specializes in educational material for kids, including dinosaur books, models, toys, fossils, games, postcards, and dinosaur movies. All these things help children learn about the prehistoric past that we all share. Dinosaurs must be the most fascinating animals that ever walked the earth and you can certainly understand why kids gravitate to them so. James made sure each of his classmates got at least one souvenir from Dinosaur World.

    All things considered James held up pretty well, but he was much more quiet with his enthusiasm on this visit than past ones, and who could blame him.

  • Dinosaur World Kentucky 2013

    Although we stopped at Dinosaur World on the way down to Nashville, the weather was so wet we knew we could not possibly go through the park so we decided to stop on the return trip from Nashville on a much more pleasant day.

    Dad and James went through the park and then we met Mom in the gift store. The picture to the left shows James in the center of the park where there are herds of huge dinosaurs (Brachiosaurus I think, although I think they used to be Brontosaurus like Dino in the Flintstones).

    James wanted to do something different this year and have a picture taken at every single exhibit in the park (his logic being that we cannot tell whats new unless we know whats old), so let the tour being.

  • Dinosaur World Kentucky 2012

    Being from Michigan we have many tourist locations up North, but many close for the winter season so on our drive down to Nashville we thought that Dinosaur World (a place James loves to stop at) would be closed but possibly the souvenir store would be open. When we got there we found out that the whole thing was open including the outside tour. We knew that Friday was going to be a super day in January with the highs in the sixties so we told James that if he was good we would also stop on the way back and go on the outside tour. Needless to say James was pretty good on the trip (he usually is) and it gave us a little break on the way home to take advantage of a gorgeous January day in Kentucky. When we arrived we were the only ones in the entire park so James had the entire Dinosaur world to himself for the day.

  • Dinosaur World Kentucky 2006

    A couple great tourist stops in Kentucky, the Kentucky Cave and the Dinosaur Park are among about a dozen tourist traps in this area. Theres also a haunted house and quilt outlet so you know we had to stop. James is a big dinosaur fan (he pronounces it “dino-hore” which leads to humorous situations with clerks, asking for their dino-hore location).

    We really enjoyed the Dinosaur Park, it had everything you could imagine as far as dinosaurs. We took a stroll through the park and their had to be at least a 100 (probably more) dinosaurs lurking there and some of them were huge. There was also a dinosaur theatre and a fossil dig along with a dinosaur play area which James took advantage of. About 2 hours north of Nashville, it makes a nice first rest stop for the trip home to Michigan.
