2026 James Completes Wayne State
James took his final final at Wayne State and the family went to his favorite restaurant, Bubbas, to celebrate. -
2026 James Graduates With A Masters Degree
James had two graduations he was in this day. The first was at 9am and was for a Non Profit Certificate at Wayne State. The second was at 5pm for his Masters Degree at the Mike Ilitch School of Business.The second ceremony ran a little late but we still made it to Bubba’s for dinner (James favorite restaurant). Later James got his graduation gifts and everyone had a great time.
Reminder, if anyone goes to one of these graduations, purses are basically not allowed over a certain size and we had to go back to the car and store it there.

Detroit Opera House Phantom and Super Bowl 2026
We bought tickets for the Phantom at the Detroit Opera House way back in September so we had pretty good seats for the sold out event. You never want to sit too close as you can miss some things with the Phantom the the candles in the floor and the chandelier, however you do get the orchestra pit which is cool.The whole family enjoyed the show and I noticed some things had changed since the last time I saw the show – the chandelier was completely different and the rear projections for thunder and lightning. The last time we saw the Phantom was at the Masonic Temple and Dad has seen the Phantom also in Toronto, New York, and Vegas.
After the show we went to Bubbas 33 for a great movie and finally home to watch the superbowl. Despite the superbowl being a lousy game, it was a great day on a cold February day. (more…)

Lincoln Park Christmas Fantasyland 2025
Its that time of year again as we all visited Fantasyland in Lincoln Park. James actually walked to the event as he is trying to walk 5 miles each day and doing a very good job at it. Once he got close he called Mom and Dad and we left to join him. James saw plenty of his VIP friends and actually got a ride home with one of his friends family as he wanted to stay longer. On the way home he stopped off at Target and brought home some chocolate covered cherries for the family.
As usual, Santa was there and as is the tradition James showed him how he was doing in school, they only one who brought paperwork to his visit.
Thanks to VIP camp for setting this up as it was alot of fun.

St Alberts 50th Reunion 1975 – 2025
Its hard to believe it has been 50 years since the little friends graduated from St Alberts. That means its been 58 years since we have known each other. The reunion was at Ford Lanes and was very well attended with over 20 people attending, about half of the class. The other half were probably too far away to attend or not on Facebook.
This is one of the few posts where most of the pictures were taken by someone else, but Dad did manage to click a few pics off. A great time was had by all and hopefully it won’t be 50 years before seeing some of these childhood friends.

VIP Camp Party 2025
The annual finale to another great season of VIP Camp came to a conclusion with a party at the local bowling alley. Plenty of games and fun for all the campers and their hosts. James got to do plenty of bowling and this year the parents had a chance to bowl as well if they like. Mom and Dad decided against joining into the bowling as it has been decades since they have.The competition between the campers and their parents were competitive this year and I think the parents actually even won a race. All attending had a blast and a big thanks to the VIP camp counselors who put on another great show and a great time was had by all!
